Obesity is mainly caused due to the sedentary lifestyle and unhealthy food habits. It may also lead to many other chronic disorders like raised blood pressure, diabetes, heart diseases, etc.

Causes of Obesity according to Ayurveda:

According to the Ayurveda, obesity is considered as a major illness which can be cured fully in due course of time but can revert back if the causes continue. The causes include

  • Excessive eating,
  • Eating in between meals,
  • Intake of excessive bakery products,
  • Lack of exercise,
  • Sedentary lifestyle, etc.

The causes mentioned above increase the fat deposition in your body which results in the person getting overweight. If not taken care of it leads to narrowing of various microscopic and macroscopic channels in the liver, pancreas, kidneys, spleen, arteries, lymphatic drain channels etc. Thus free flow of blood, plasma, lymph, hormones, stools, urine, mucous and other body fluids is obstructed which leads to toxic accumulation throughout the body and in the long run starts affecting the brain and its functions too. Thus this gives enough reason for chronic disorders like high blood pressure, high cholesterol level, diabetes, stroke, congestive cardiac failure, cancer, gall stones, osteoarthritis, etc.
